Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee our EHS programs at our manufacturing facility. This role is vital in ensuring adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations while cultivating a proactive safety culture within the organization. The EHS Manager will play a key role in minimizing workplace hazards and enhancing the overall safety and health of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage the plant's EHS management systems in alignment with corporate strategies.
  • Develop and oversee the budget for EHS initiatives, focusing on cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
  • Lead the plant safety audit process, ensuring timely execution and effective use of data for continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on EHS performance metrics to assess compliance and drive enhancements.
  • Assist in creating and updating site-specific EHS policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated and enforced.
  • Manage all aspects of EHS incidents, including investigations, corrective actions, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain knowledge of workplace injury and workers' compensation programs.
  • Ensure all material safety data sheets (MSDS) are current and accessible to employees.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and distribute safety training materials for various training sessions.
  • Develop an annual training schedule tailored to departmental needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as ASP, OHST, CSP, QEP, or CIH are preferred. Candidates should possess technical expertise in Human Operation Performance (HOP), Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and ISO standards.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing context, with a strong background in incident investigation and hazard assessment.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, and NFPA.
  • Ability to engage and promote a positive safety culture within the workforce.
  • Experience in supporting HR with employee orientation related to safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in data and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Quality Management principles.
  • Proficient in preparing reports for corporate EHS and regulatory agencies.
