Position Title: HR Administrator

Status: Exempt

Role Summary:

This HR Administrator role is tailored for detail-oriented professionals who excel in systems management, payroll, and data analysis. As a vital member of the People Operations team, your contributions will ensure that our expanding workforce receives exceptional service regarding payroll, benefits, and HRIS accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of a new HRIS system, emphasizing system administration and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Manage multi-state payroll processes, adapting to the company's growth and maintaining compliance with state and city regulations.
  • Collaborate with benefits partners to facilitate employee access to a comprehensive benefits package, including open enrollment and benefits reporting.
  • Administer the MI New Jobs Training Program, liaising with educational institutions and state agencies to ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance.
  • Ensure smooth execution of EDI feeds and integrations between payroll and benefits providers.
  • Generate benefits and compensation reports using Excel, requiring intermediate to advanced skills for effective data visualization.
  • Support 401(k) administration, focusing on employee status updates and compliance testing.
  • Stay informed on regulations and trends affecting payroll and benefits.
  • Represent the company at recruitment events, fostering relationships with potential candidates.
  • Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, promptly addressing employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll.
  • Manage information security protocols as defined by the HRIS system.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Position Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, focusing on payroll system implementation and benefits administration.
  • Strong professional presence and excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail, suitable for an administrative role.
  • Experience managing multi-state payroll and tax registrations; international payroll experience is a plus.
  • HR certification (HRCI or SHRM) is preferred but not mandatory if a relevant degree is held.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
