  • Position Overview
    • The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and precise collection of patient registration, admission, and discharge information within the Emergency and/or Registration Departments. This role also encompasses providing essential clerical support and receptionist functions within these departments. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with established operational guidelines and protocols. The Patient Access Coordinator is expected to collaborate effectively with departmental personnel to promote efficient operations.
  • Qualifications
    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma is required. Previous experience in medical reception or clerical roles, or a background in general office administration is preferred. Proficiency in typing/keyboarding is necessary, with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute. Successful completion of the designated orientation program for this role is mandatory.

      KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Familiarity with medical terminology, operation of relevant technical equipment, and understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures is essential. Consideration of the patient demographics is crucial when evaluating the knowledge required for this position.
