  • Position Overview
    • The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for the seamless and precise collection of patient registration, admission, and discharge information within the Emergency and/or Registration Departments. This role also encompasses general administrative support and receptionist responsibilities to facilitate efficient operations. All tasks are executed in accordance with established operational guidelines and protocols. The Patient Access Specialist is expected to collaborate effectively with departmental personnel to enhance overall departmental functionality.
  • Qualifications
    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma is required. Prior experience in medical reception or clerical roles, or a background in general office administration is preferred. Proficiency in typing/keyboarding is essential, with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute. Successful completion of the designated orientation program for this role is mandatory.

      KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: A solid understanding of medical terminology, familiarity with all relevant technical equipment, and comprehensive knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures are necessary. Consideration of the patient demographics is crucial when evaluating the job knowledge required from the employee.
