Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at our Madison Heights, MI patient care facility. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to our front desk, communicate with patients and healthcare providers, and collaborate with our Verification, Authorization, and Billing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the front desk, including answering phones, taking messages, and routing calls.
- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to schedule appointments, discuss financial responsibilities, and obtain medical documentation.
- Collaborate with our Verification, Authorization, and Billing teams to secure insurance authorizations for patient cases.
- Create patient account profiles in our Medical Record system.
- Perform shipping and receiving of products as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including coordination of office supplies.
- Handle office petty cash.
- Meet work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards established by the company.
- Comply with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of office administrative management experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Experience with medical terminology, accounts receivable, insurance collections, or billing preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
