Overview

The Territory Sales Manager is a key individual contributor responsible for managing territory and basic technical duties. This role involves developing and maintaining a business strategy to gain or protect market share, providing technical service to customers, leading marketing and sales initiatives, and monitoring product quality and performance in the territory. This position is essential for maintaining a positive community presence, ensuring sustainable operations, and adhering to company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate clear business strategies for each account to enhance market share and account penetration.
  • Establish realistic revenue and product goals.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop plans to maximize account potential and implement district strategies.
  • Promote Argos products within the territory, focusing on masonry and stucco segments.
  • Provide technical assistance and resolve product and service issues related to masonry and stucco.
  • Gather intelligence on customers and competitors to maintain a robust customer pipeline.
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships while providing training and education.
  • Engage actively in trade associations as required.
  • Identify innovation and product development opportunities.
  • Develop an effective call planning system for adequate territory coverage.
  • Implement strategies to maintain and grow the package channel.
  • Manage working capital goals by meeting financial objectives.
  • Deliver value to customers, particularly in the package channel.
  • Utilize company systems for accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Commit to safety policies and practices in all work environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in building materials or related industries.
  • Proactive, organized, and results-oriented self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of segment-based marketing methods.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen.
  • Residence within the sales territory is required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for customer meetings and business events.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including physical and background checks.
