Penske Logistics Warehouse Associate Job Description

Penske Logistics is seeking a skilled Warehouse Associate to join our team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to transport goods and materials within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately match numbers and letters
  • Stage and sort products for loading
  • Load and unload trailers
  • Open and close dock doors
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
  • Pull manual dock chain
  • Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
  • Move materials within the warehouse
  • Comply with all safety requirements
  • Package or kit finished product for shipping
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Quality control
  • Identify and remove damaged products
  • Complete daily logs
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts
  • Attach identifying tags to containers
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved
  • Assemble product containers and crates
  • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
  • Read production schedule and customer order
  • Fills requisitions and distributes items to production workers
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse mechanical equipment
Qualifications:
  • No prior warehouse experience required but preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, and time management skills required
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
