Track Repair Foreman

As a key member of the crew, you will be responsible for overseeing track construction projects, including the bid and proposal process, and ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Hands-on direction and implementation of track, rail yard work, and other projects as assigned
- Determine materials needed and staff requirements for projects
- Utilize company operating procedures and FRA rules, standards, and instructions to complete project work and maximize asset utilization and control costs
- Oversee the work assigned to the Foreman and crew, ensuring it is completed in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate and maintain backhoes and front-end loaders
- High School diploma (or equivalent)
- Military experience helpful
- Comprehensive knowledge of track structure, construction, and maintenance, and identifying track defects
- Superior communication skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under minimal supervision

Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to operate control levers, and reach with hands and arms. Environmental ConditionsThe employee will be working in a moderate to heavy physical environment, lifting and carrying necessary equipment to perform operations. The employee must follow prescribed safety rules to avoid possible injury.
