The Route Operations Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the safe and effective execution of all work assigned to their designated routes. Daily responsibilities will typically involve a blend of 30% administrative duties and 70% fieldwork.

The Route Operations Supervisor will engage in essential record-keeping, scheduling, billing, and conducting quality and safety inspections at job sites, as well as overseeing fleet and equipment maintenance. This role necessitates considerable travel between job sites, requiring frequent entry and exit from a vehicle. Occasionally, the Route Operations Supervisor may need to assist or collaborate with team members for training purposes or to provide support, which may involve manual labor tasks such as washing.

Proficiency in computer systems is essential, along with the capability to learn the operational software utilized by Kept Companies. Experience in managing a dynamic workforce with diverse skill levels is crucial. While there are no fixed working hours, weekend time off is generally limited to two consecutive weekdays. The Route Operations Supervisor must demonstrate self-management skills to achieve various assigned tasks and objectives throughout the workweek and must be reachable by phone during all scheduled workdays.

Compensation Structure:

Base salary with weekly commission/bonus contingent on route performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Directing and guiding route team members to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Safety and Compliance: Leading the team in adherence to company safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Striving to complete 100% of assigned tasks in the most effective manner while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Scheduling and Billing: Finalizing and validating the weekly schedule by Sunday, reconciling daily work immediately after dispatch, and ensuring all billing is completed by Tuesday morning.

Regular Duties:

  • Assisting the Operations Manager with hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and other HR-related tasks as needed.
  • Overseeing all route-level personnel, including onboarding and daily operational activities.
  • Addressing operational challenges in the field, such as equipment breakdowns or safety incidents.
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance and readiness of all assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Resolving customer complaints and responding to urgent service requests.
  • Facilitating monthly safety meetings and participating in the evaluation and counseling of route employees.
