About Us:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and geotechnical engineers to perform probabilistic seismic hazard evaluations for critical infrastructure, particularly in the nuclear sector, across various locations.
  • Analyze technical data related to seismic sources, drawing from earthquake records, paleoseismology, structural geology, and neotectonics.
  • Engage with a diverse team to incorporate probabilistic seismic hazard results into engineering practices and risk assessments.

Daily Tasks:
  • Employ advanced software and methodologies to create seismic source and ground motion models, while assessing the uncertainties linked to these models.
  • Keep updated with the latest advancements in seismology, earthquake engineering, and hazard analysis, integrating new techniques into ongoing projects.
  • Draft detailed reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring complex information is communicated clearly.
  • Offer expert advice to clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams regarding seismic hazard evaluations.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Seismology, Geophysics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience in probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, particularly in seismic source modeling, is essential.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as OpenQuake, SeisRiskIII, and other relevant tools is necessary.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python or MATLAB is preferred. A history of publications in seismological research is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to varied audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to manage projects independently are crucial.
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be U.S. citizens or have held U.S. Permanent Residency for a minimum of five years.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
