Job Overview

We are looking for a committed Behavior Support Specialist to contribute to our mission. In this role, you will be tasked with executing tailored treatment strategies for clients in both individual and group environments.

Shift Schedule: Monday - Sunday

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience with children
  • RBT certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Successful completion of pre-employment reference verification
  • TB and health assessments
  • Background check (Central Registry Clearance)
  • CPS Background Clearance
  • Basic computer proficiency

Experience Required:

  • Prior experience as a Behavior Technician is necessary.

Work Environment: This position is based in a short-term residential facility.

Key Responsibilities:
The Behavior Support Specialist role is a specialized position under the guidance of a BCBA. Duties include implementing personalized behavior management and skill development plans within a short-term residential setting. The clientele consists of children and adolescents facing mental health challenges and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time role is distinctive within the ABA field, as it does not require assignment to a specific case or travel between locations. All clients will be supported within the short-term crisis/residential unit.

The ideal candidate should possess a profound understanding of and capability to engage with emotionally challenged children, demonstrating empathy to effectively assist behaviorally and emotionally troubled children diagnosed with Autism. The candidate should be self-motivated, accountable, and exhibit strong moral integrity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Document data on clients' skill acquisition and behavior management programs
  • Conduct parent/caregiver update and training calls as necessary
  • Collaborate closely with BCBA to provide clinical updates for all clients in the unit
  • Assist clients in improving independence by focusing on daily living and self-care skills, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and basic laundry
  • Provide personal care assistance as required
  • Lead daily activities, including games, crafts, and social group events
  • Maintain general cleanliness of residential areas, including bedrooms, hygiene areas, and common rooms
  • Support Direct Care staff with clinical guidance
  • Provide physical management support to staff if clients exhibit aggressive behavior
  • Assist BCBA in creating necessary materials
  • Support the Leadership team with additional duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
