Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with physicians and nurses in a busy, academic otolaryngology practice to provide high-quality medical treatment for patients. As a key member of the patient care team, the successful candidate will be expected to become an active participant in all aspects of the field of otolaryngology head and neck surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient history, physical examination, and make assessments and diagnoses based on this information, as well as initiate, review, and revise treatment plans and records.
  • Present data in a manner meaningful to the supervising physician.
  • Provide patient care services to the medical practice.
  • Assist physicians with interventional treatments, respond to incoming phone messages from patients, and return patient calls.
  • Referrals to other healthcare providers and/or consult the physician for further definitive therapy.
  • Order and evaluate appropriate non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on health care, health maintenance, medical problems, treatment plans, nutrition or other related issues as appropriate.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • NYS license and certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited school of Physician Assistants.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced medical practice.
  • Experience with EMR.
