Position Overview:

The Department of Surgery, specifically the Division of Otolaryngology at Stony Brook University, is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Otolaryngologist with specialized training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This role is available at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical interventions.
  • Develop tailored treatment strategies and effectively communicate them to patients.
  • Uphold all medical and ethical standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Exhibit reliability and approachability while collaborating with our dedicated team.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Demonstrate interest in building a thriving clinical practice and mentoring residents and medical students.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Medical Degree (MD or DO) or an equivalent foreign degree. They should be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Otolaryngology and meet the qualifications to practice medicine in New York State. Eligibility for certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively engaging and educating patients. A keen interest in research and scholarly activities is highly encouraged.

Special Notes:

This position is available on a Tenure/Non-Tenure Track basis and is classified as FLSA Exempt, meaning it is not eligible for overtime provisions. To qualify for tenure or a senior faculty appointment, candidates must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine.
