Overview:

The Cardiovascular Services department at Cambridge Health Alliance is dedicated to delivering comprehensive diagnostic testing and rehabilitation services. Under the guidance of the Cardiology Medical Director, our team plays a crucial role in patient care through various assessments and therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct stress testing for both inpatients and outpatients to evaluate cardiovascular health.
  2. Provide clear explanations of testing procedures to patients to alleviate any concerns.
  3. Prepare patients for testing by applying electrodes and ensuring optimal conditions for accurate readings.
  4. Monitor vital signs throughout the testing process to assess patient safety and performance.
  5. Assist patients in acclimating to the Exercise Center or Rehabilitation environment.
  6. Ensure high-quality recordings for diagnostic purposes in accordance with established protocols.
  7. Maintain and verify the functionality of testing equipment prior to each session.
  8. Document and analyze test results, including interpreting Electrocardiogram readings.
  9. Administer intravenous therapy as required during testing.
  10. Engage in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, developing tailored treatment plans for patients.
  11. Evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  12. Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care discussions.
  13. Conduct pulmonary function tests and assist in scheduling and billing processes.
  14. Ensure equipment calibration and accuracy in the pulmonary function labs.
  15. Support patients in self-administering medications as directed by physicians.
  16. Maintain comprehensive records and logs of patient interactions and outcomes.
  17. Provide training and instruction to students and staff on testing methodologies.
  18. Stay informed on industry advancements and participate in research initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Kinesiology or a related discipline.

Certifications: Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C) and eligibility for pulmonary function testing certification.

Experience: Minimum of three months in a clinical setting as an exercise physiologist or in pulmonary rehabilitation.
