JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate will oversee the electrical components and systems of spacecraft throughout the entire development lifecycle, focusing on satellites from CubeSats to SmallSats.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing power generation, storage, and distribution.
  • Implementing grounding techniques, EMI mitigation, wiring, and establishing electrical and data connections among all spacecraft subsystems.
  • Delivering comprehensive spacecraft electrical designs, including energy balance assessments and communication interfaces.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in spacecraft electrical system design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting, or a Master's degree that equates to two years of experience.
  • Experience with power subsystems and a background in satellite technology.
  • A strong grasp of electrical engineering principles and the subsystems necessary for spacecraft electrical systems.
  • Experience in designing high-reliability hardware for spaceflight, including schematic design, layout, assembly, and testing.
  • Proficiency in electrical system design and analysis, including defining electrical ICDs, deriving requirements, and understanding digital I/O standards, power interfaces, connectors, and cabling.
  • Experience in designing and constructing power electronics, such as DC/DC converters and motor drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments, including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, for debugging and validating high-reliability electronics.
  • Familiarity with satellite electrical system concepts, including power and energy budgets, telemetry, and electronics thermal management.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
