We are seeking a dedicated and proactive systems engineer to enhance our Mission Sustainment team. This group is composed of a diverse array of skilled professionals who tackle complex challenges with enthusiasm and creativity. The role involves providing essential support for spacecraft operations, including on-orbit testing, factory support, and maintenance for a variety of clients, including commercial entities, the Department of Defense, and NASA. Our engineers play a crucial role in the lifecycle of our projects, engaging in early phases such as requirements gathering, design, analysis, and testing to ensure a seamless transition to operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telemetry analysis, mission performance evaluations, and maintenance of satellite and ground systems.
  • Engage in on-orbit operations, monitor the health of spacecraft systems, and assist in resolving anomalies.
  • Develop and refine mission operations documentation and tools based on operational feedback and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and maintain operational command products and training materials.
  • Support the integration and testing of new capabilities and product releases for satellite and ground systems.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members and may take on technical or project leadership roles.
  • Prepare and present technical information to peers, management, and clients.
  • Maintain a consistent work schedule, which may include occasional night, weekend, or on-call shifts.
  • Foster effective working relationships across departments and with various stakeholders to promote a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Work Environment:

This position necessitates regular in-person engagement, requiring employees to work on-site for three or more days each week. Travel between company locations may be necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may be conducted in various settings, including offices, laboratories, production areas, or outdoor environments.
  • Occasional use of protective equipment may be required in production areas.
  • Employees may need to access different facilities under varying weather conditions.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $83.41

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Higher-level degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) may substitute for two years of experience.
  • A current TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience in areas such as satellite operations, spacecraft commissioning, mission management, and ground systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within teams are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing mission operations products and familiarity with operations processes.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, integration, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud development environments and requirements management tools.
