Become a vital part of the Mission Systems Integration division at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems. As a key member of the Mission Systems Engineering and Integration Team, you will be tasked with validating the collection segment prior to launch, as well as engaging in ongoing mission integration and testing activities after launch to enhance mission capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop, release, and maintain the Interface Control Document (ICD) for the space vehicle to ground communication and all ICDs with external interfaces.

+ Assist in the development of the mission Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and functional baseline.

+ Define requirements and use cases for simulators to support Collection Segment and Mission Integration & Test activities.

+ Collaborate closely with the verification lead to formulate the mission-level verification strategy.

+ Create and/or implement the Mission Test Plan and Mission-level Test Procedures.

+ Ensure that all simulators, Ground Support Equipment, network interfaces, and other resources are identified and ready for mission-level testing.

+ Lead mission-level testing activities, including but not limited to early data exchanges, risk-reduction initiatives, end-to-end data verification, space-to-ground compatibility, factory compatibility, and multi-segment testing.

+ Provide support for operational activities and the development and execution of launch rehearsals.

+ Plan and execute ongoing Mission Systems Integration and Test activities post-launch, addressing issue resolution, software updates for the space vehicle, ground system updates, discrepancy reports, regression testing, and operational updates.

+ Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.

+ Foster and maintain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the company. Interact appropriately with colleagues to sustain a positive and productive work environment.

+ Perform additional duties as required.

On-Site Work Environment: This role necessitates regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days a week in the primary work location. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other potential non-company locations may be necessary.

Working Conditions:

+ Work is conducted in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, as well as in outdoor or remote research environments.

+ May occasionally work in production areas where protective equipment and gear are mandatory.

+ May need to access other facilities under various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

+ A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with 5 or more years of relevant experience.

+ Each higher-level degree, such as a Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. The degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education.

+ A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.

+ Experience with spacecraft simulators and space vehicle testing operations.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

+ Experience in mission operations.

+ Familiarity with mission integration and testing, both pre- and post-launch.

+ Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Linux, software scripting, and JIRA.

+ Experience as a test director and/or test conductor on aerospace programs.

+ Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead group discussions and prioritize tasks while delegating as necessary to achieve objectives.

+ Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).

Compensation Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $137,500

However, individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to, business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
