Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural evaluations on spacecraft, instruments, payloads, optics, mechanisms, and ground support systems.
  • Utilize both closed form and finite element analysis methods for stress evaluation and structural dynamics.
  • Generate load and environmental specifications for structures and components.
  • Assist in structural and environmental testing, including static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration assessments.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing test and analysis findings.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the department and across various business units, ensuring a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Work Environment: This role necessitates regular in-person engagement, requiring on-site work five days a week at the primary location. Occasional travel and local commuting between company facilities may be necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may take place in an office, laboratory, production floor, cleanroom, or outdoor research setting.
  • Occasional work in production environments may require the use of protective equipment.
  • Access to various facilities may occur under diverse weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline is essential, accompanied by a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Higher-level degrees, such as a Master’s or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Proficiency in Nastran for static, modal, buckling, and frequency response analysis.
  • Preferred skills include familiarity with software such as Simcenter, FEMAP, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, MATLAB, Adams, Solidworks, and Python.
  • Experience with FEM applications including Explicit, Transient, Nonlinear, Multibody Dynamics, Line of Sight, and Jitter.
  • Knowledge in structural analysis of bolted and bonded joints, welds, electronics, antennas, and fatigue/fracture mechanics.
  • Experience with materials including composites, ceramics, and high-temperature substances.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not a prerequisite for this position; however, candidates must be willing and eligible for submission post-offer acceptance, depending on program requirements.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • A Master of Science Degree in a structures-related field.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance.

Compensation Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $185,250

Please note: This range is based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
