Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a Principal Engineer - Structures, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis on spacecraft, instruments, payloads, optics, mechanisms, and ground support equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis using closed form and finite element analysis techniques in stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Develop loads and environments for structure and components.
  • Support structural and environmental testing for static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration.
  • Write detailed reports for test and analysis activities.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.
Requirements
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience.
  • Required skills and proficiencies include Nastran experience with static, modal, buckling, and frequency response.
  • Proficiency preferred in the following areas: General Software, FEM Applications, Structural Analysis, Materials, and Teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master of Science Degree in a structures related field.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
