Position Overview:

The First Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Pilot in Command (PIC) and Chief Pilot in executing safe and efficient flight operations with the RJ-85 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct flight operations in a secure, standardized, and professional manner.
  • Adhere to company and regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist the PIC in ensuring compliance with all regulatory, agency, and company policies.
  • Engage in thorough pre-flight planning, including loading and performance calculations.
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness and communicate any concerns to the PIC.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems and associated documentation.
  • Provide timely and relevant information to the PIC, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and other emergency resources.
  • Monitor aircraft systems, performance, and crew effectiveness throughout operations.
  • Respect aircraft limitations and handle equipment with care.
  • Embody and promote the mission, vision, and values of Aero-Flite, Inc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.

Qualifications:

  • Aeronautical Expertise: Proficient knowledge of off-airport, IFR, and multi-crew operations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with FAA regulations and procedures.
  • Mechanical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of aircraft systems.
  • Human Factors Insight: Expertise in human factors and risk assessment.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong foundation in customer service principles.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within an aerial firefighting team under diverse conditions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Capability to engage positively with various personalities and resolve conflicts.
  • Task Management: Strong prioritization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Professionalism: Maintain professional relationships even in challenging situations.
  • Aeronautical Decision Making: Awareness of risk factors with the ability to make sound, timely decisions.
  • Airmanship: Apply knowledge and skills to effectively command the aircraft in support of the mission.
  • Troubleshooting and Critical Thinking: Identify causes and effects through expert knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in utilizing IT tools to enhance training and situational awareness.
  • Technical Comprehension: Ability to analyze manuals and manage discrepancy logs and MEL.
