Labor Relations Specialist

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Employee Relations, and in close partnership with the Directors, the Labor Relations Specialist will manage a variety of employee and labor relations activities and initiatives, including contract administration, contract negotiations, grievance and arbitration issues, and policy compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage contract administration, including interpreting collective bargaining agreements and providing guidance to employees and management.
- Develop and implement labor relations strategies to promote positive employee relations and minimize conflict.
- Provide training and support to employees and management on labor relations policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR teams to develop and implement HR initiatives that promote employee engagement and retention.
- Develop and maintain relationships with labor unions and other stakeholders to promote positive labor relations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Labor Relations, Human Resources, or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and labor unions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience working in a college or university setting or large, complex not-for-profit organization.
Additional Information:
New York University is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. The annual base salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 to USD $135,000.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
