Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations, this role performs a wide range of duties related to contract administration, contract negotiations, grievance and arbitration issues, and employee relations concerns. The ideal candidate will have significant labor management and employee relations experience in both union and non-union environments, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment and labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide definitive direction, interpretative guidance, and support to schools and administrative units on multiple collective bargaining agreements.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance, and adherence to local, state, and federal laws governing employment practices.
- Develop and implement training programs on human resource and employee relations topics for diverse management teams.
- Exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships across the University.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- 10+ years of significant labor management and employee relations experience in both union and non-union environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
- 1+ years of experience working in a college or university setting or large complex not-for-profit organization.
- Creating, developing, and implementing training programs on a full range of human resource and employee relations topics.
