Position Overview

Aquarion Water Company is seeking a collaborative individual to join our team as an Automation Systems Specialist within the Control Systems & Services (CSS) division. This division plays a crucial role in the Supply Operations Department, which oversees the sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution of water.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate in the development of Control Strategy specifications and functionality standards.
- Acquire foundational knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, for daily operations including scheduling and tracking.
- Assist in the enhancement of Control Systems Standards while staying updated with industry advancements.
- Provide integration services for various Aquarion projects, including Pump Stations, Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs), and Water Treatment Facilities.
- Support technical teams with troubleshooting, calibration, loop tuning, and setup of control systems and instrumentation in operational environments.
- Design network architectures utilizing protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, Profinet, and Device-net.
- Serve as an on-call controls engineer on a rotating basis as designated by department leadership.
- Oversee System Integrators engaged in maintenance tasks at our facilities.
- Participate in external training for automation hardware and software platforms to enhance personal skill sets.
- Understand and contribute to the long-term vision for SCADA systems in remote deployment scenarios, focusing on expandable data collection architectures and control capabilities.
- Generate essential engineering documentation using AutoCAD software, including P&ID drawings, networking layouts, electrical schematics, and control enclosure designs.
- Develop control logic in accordance with established standards to fulfill control strategies and functional descriptions in automated environments.
