Quality Control Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in conducting manual layout inspections on complex stamped metal and injected plastic components that are integral to our assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections for new component approvals or tooling modifications, including multi-cavity tools. Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and interpreting engineering specifications is essential.
  • Collaborate with fellow Quality Assurance Technicians to effectively schedule and coordinate the use of inspection and testing equipment for First Article Inspections.

Qualifications for Success

  • An Associate's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, or a Trade School equivalent with at least 10 years of applicable QA inspection experience.
  • Ability to execute complex setups for inspections utilizing manual and optical instruments. Proficiency with tools such as Micro-Hite/Cadillac Height Gages, Last Word Indicators, Micrometers, Gage Blocks, Dial Indicators, and Optical Comparators is expected. Experience with Gantry Style CMM (Miro-Vu) for inspections is advantageous.
  • Understanding of part sectioning and the critical allocation of submitted samples is required.
  • Competence in documenting measurement results using software such as Excel, Word, or Minitab is necessary. Familiarity with CMM and CAD software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of measurement software like Keyence, Polyworks, Geomagic, AutoCAD, or Solidworks is beneficial.
  • Desirable skills include the ability to import/export 3D model files, assemble CMM fixturing, and construct new probes/stylus as needed, along with executing CMM programs and managing results.
