About the Role

Ranpak is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, and we're seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our assembly team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and testing automated packaging systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Testing: Assemble and test automated packaging solutions, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and performance.
  • Component Installation: Install mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components according to drawing, electrical schematics, and instructions.
  • Project Scheduling: Follow and keep track of project schedules, collaborating with engineering, inventory, service, and shipping departments.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reading and Following Instructions: Read and follow assembly drawings and instructions, ensuring accurate assembly and testing of automated packaging systems.
  • Component Installation and Alignment: Install and align sub-assembly and structural components, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Electrical Installation and Wiring: Read and wire according to electrical schematics, ensuring safe and efficient electrical installations.
  • Safety Requirements: Follow and install all safety requirements of the system, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Component Modification: Modify components according to engineering requests, using tools such as drills, taps, and grinders.
  • Issue Reporting: Report issues to supervisors, engineering, and quality teams, ensuring prompt resolution and quality control.
  • Testing and Adjustments: Test and adjust mechanical and electrical assemblies, ensuring they meet our quality and performance standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment and assist with FAT (Final Acceptance Test) to ensure system functionality and quality.
  • Collaboration with Service Department: Collaborate with the service department to install equipment on customer sites, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Project Scheduling and Inventory Control: Follow project schedules and maintain accurate inventory control, ensuring timely project completion and efficient resource allocation.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift or be willing to undergo training, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training in industrial electronics, schematics, or blueprints preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50-80 pounds, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.
  • Decision Making: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, with the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
