PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Construction Project Leader is chiefly accountable for overseeing and coordinating projects to ensure completion safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Our project leaders provide direction to the project team and manage the overall project success from initial estimation through to completion while ensuring compliance with company protocols.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Engage with Executive Management, Estimating, Field Operations, and key stakeholders to outline the project scope and develop an execution strategy.
  • Organize pre-planning meetings and establish the project budget.
  • Create a feasible schedule for job cost management, labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Define project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the project with the Executive Management Team throughout its lifecycle.
  • Hold weekly meetings with field personnel.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on all equipment and material procurement.
  • Oversee all financial elements of the contract; prepare quarterly cost-to-complete reports.
  • Generate monthly invoices for submission to the General Contractor or Owner.
  • Review and approve monthly subcontractor billing.
  • Represent Murray Company in project-related meetings.
  • Assist in labor negotiations and strategic planning.
  • Document potential issues and provide guidance to management.
  • In the absence of a Project Engineer, assume all related responsibilities.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by corporate management.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or substantial experience and comprehension of industrial construction and engineering design principles. A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Heavy Industrial projects is required, with a preference for experience in Water Treatment and related sectors such as Power, Petrochemical, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing.

Ability to implement innovative and effective management strategies to enhance employee performance through a solid understanding of corporate practices, processes, standards, and their influence on project activities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be capable of climbing ladders and accessing trenches, attic spaces, and confined areas.
