PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Construction Project Leader is primarily tasked with overseeing and coordinating projects to ensure completion safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Our project leaders provide direction to the project team and are responsible for the overall success of the project from initial estimates to final completion, ensuring compliance with company protocols.


LOCATION:
Van Nuys, CA.

TYPICAL DUTIES:


The Construction Project Leader will collaborate with Executive Management, Estimating, Field Operations, and key stakeholders to outline the project scope and develop an execution strategy.

Organize pre-planning sessions and establish the project budget.
Create a practical schedule for job cost management, labor, materials, and equipment.
Define project goals, policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
Continuously review project progress with the Executive Management Team from inception to completion.
Conduct weekly meetings with field personnel.
Coordinate with Purchasing for all equipment and material acquisitions.
Oversee all financial elements of the contract; prepare quarterly cost-to-complete reports.
Generate monthly invoices for submission to the General Contractor or Owner.
Review and approve monthly subcontractor invoices.
Represent Murray Company in project discussions.
Assist in labor negotiations and strategy development.
Document any emerging issues and inform management.
In the absence of a Project Engineer, the Construction Project Leader will take on all Project Engineer responsibilities.
Assume additional duties as assigned by corporate management.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or substantial experience and understanding of industrial construction and engineering design principles.

A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Heavy Industrial projects is required, with a preference for Water Treatment and related sectors such as Power, Petrochemical, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing.

Must demonstrate the ability to implement innovative and effective management strategies to enhance employee performance through a thorough understanding of corporate practices, processes, standards, and their influence on project activities.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be capable of climbing ladders and accessing trenches, attic spaces, and confined areas.
