Position: Lead Cost Estimator for Construction Projects (Hybrid)

Eticeng, a reputable and expanding mid-sized construction and consulting firm, is in search of an experienced cost estimator to enhance its dynamic Construction and Field Services Division.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all facets of project estimation for civil and environmental construction initiatives. This includes analyzing RFPs, reviewing plans and specifications, conducting quantity takeoffs, sourcing pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and providing accurate production rates. Additionally, the estimator will assist project managers with estimates for change orders.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate bid opportunities to identify suitable projects.
  • Analyze construction documents and utilize estimating software, including Bluebeam Revu, to prepare quantity takeoffs.
  • Participate in site visits to gather essential information that impacts construction estimates.
  • Prepare and disseminate bid packages while soliciting estimates from material suppliers and specialty subcontractors.
  • Review and assess all received bids for pricing and completeness, selecting appropriate bids for inclusion in estimates.
  • Develop cost estimates using the company's proprietary estimating system.
  • Conduct thorough pre-final and final bid reviews with senior construction management prior to submission.
  • Assist construction managers with cost estimates for change orders.
  • Collaborate with fellow estimators on larger proposal efforts.
  • Maintain and update pricing history databases to facilitate comparisons of production rates from past projects with those assumed for new estimates.
  • Keep current databases of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing rates.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, science, or management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in leading and preparing construction estimates for environmental remediation and civil construction projects.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites for site visits as needed.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wages and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $165,000, depending on experience, education, and location.
