Matura Farrington, a leading law firm, is on the lookout for a meticulous Conflicts Specialist to enhance their team in a temp-to-hire capacity. This position plays a crucial role in upholding the firm's ethical standards and managing any potential conflicts of interest. The selected candidate will be tasked with performing thorough conflict checks, evaluating and addressing potential conflicts, and maintaining comprehensive records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed and prompt conflict of interest investigations utilizing the firm's database and various resources.
  • Evaluate conflict search outcomes and pinpoint possible conflicts of interest.
  • Engage with attorneys and staff to collect further information and clarify any potential conflicts.
  • Draft comprehensive conflict reports and summaries for senior management's review.
  • Ensure accurate and current records of all conflict checks and their resolutions are maintained.
  • Devise and implement strategies to enhance the conflict checking process.
  • Work alongside the compliance team to guarantee adherence to ethical standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Support special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a conflicts specialist role or a similar position within a legal environment.
  • Solid understanding of conflict of interest principles and legal ethics.
  • Familiarity with conflict checking software and other legal research tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:

$30-$40/hr, based on relevant experience.
