About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Diamond Peak Recruiting. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful completion of projects, collaborating with subcontractors, field teams, and clients to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing mechanical systems projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality workmanship.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Project Manager to prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, as well as coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist in tracking project progress and resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes, as well as review mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Site Management: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address on-site issues, supporting the procurement of materials and equipment as needed.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project updates to clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, specifically working with mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems design and installation in commercial buildings.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
