Job Description

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for performing detailed assignments in recording, classifying, examining, and verifying financial records, documents, or reports. You will work under close supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides effective and efficient customer service in a professional manner to agency employees and managers.
  • Performs data entry for journal vouchers, revenue deposits, and other electronic transactions.
  • Receives cash, prepares deposit slips, and maintains cash control records.
  • Compiles and distributes accounting reports and spreadsheets pertaining to such matters as online credit card transactions, cash receipts, and refunds of revenue.
  • Verifies and distributes warrants for payroll and vendors in accordance with agency and state requirements.
  • Assists with tracking reimbursements and invoices to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Maintains, scans, and secures files and accounting documents.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial operations.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent plus two (2) years' experience in general office administration or cash handling work.
  • Six to twelve hours of college coursework in accounting is preferred.
