Purpose: This role will deliver customer service to students and departments by executing accounting and related tasks, including the recording, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data concerning departmental scholarships and centralized receivables billing.

Responsibilities: Support departments and students with scholarship documentation and payment inquiries in the university Financial Resource Management System and accounting system.

- Process scholarship cancellations as necessary.
- Assist Tax Services with establishing Glacier records for non-US tax residents and issuing quarterly tax refunds.
- Maintain daily accounting records and generate receivable reports from various university data resources. Assist with monthly reconciliation of Centralized Receivables to Accounting balances.

- Reconcile daily journal vouchers to ensure accurate accounting to Centralized Receivables records (includes web vouchers, credit card vouchers, treasury vouchers, etc.). Investigate errors in daily vouchers and implement necessary corrections.

- Process credit card chargebacks, manual credit card refund requests, tuition rebates, and enrollment deposit forfeitures. Investigate and resolve refund discrepancies for general overpayments and tuition bill refunds.
- Assist with annual processes for Centralized Receivables such as write-offs, transfers, Enrollment Deposit Forfeitures, and Unclaimed Money Fund processing.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Experience in financial reporting and analysis. Proficiency in report writing. Advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving abilities, flexibility, and attention to detail. Professional demeanor. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced, student services environment. Proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Experience in a university setting. Experience working with internal and external clients. Familiarity with databases. One to three years of experience in governmental accounting.
Salary Range: $48,000
