Job Overview

Role Summary: The Production Scheduler is responsible for orchestrating the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all activities necessary to ensure timely order fulfillment throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess incoming orders for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Ensure that materials and shop orders are generated or on order for necessary components.
  3. Monitor communications for requests to modify quantities or shipping dates.
  4. Track the progress of all active sales orders, emphasizing adherence to schedules and timely delivery.
  5. Adjust production schedules as required in response to manufacturing and supply chain challenges, informing supervisors of any modifications.
  6. Perform additional tasks as assigned based on workload and business requirements.
  7. Review Production Planning Quotes for lead times, including standard and expedited deliveries.
  8. Collaborate closely with Sales to communicate any potential order delays.
  9. Engage with Engineering to address issues related to structures or routers.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.

Experience: This position can be entry-level; however, at least one year of experience in planning, expediting, or production control within a similar high-mix/low-volume production environment is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in using computers and company ERP systems, along with Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate reading comprehension abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand manufacturing procedures.
  • Capability to perform essential functions of subordinate positions within the department.
  • Ability to read basic drawings is advantageous.
