The Marketing and Social Media Strategist will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for the Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz. This is a full-time, exempt role focused on achieving marketing goals, which encompass social media management, website content, media coordination, advertising procurement, and supporting game experiences and sponsorship fulfillment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic and rewarding environment within the professional sports sector as part of the AEG family.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leverage consumer insights and market trends to create marketing strategies that enhance the SLC Stars brand, ultimately driving attendance and revenue growth.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of social media content strategies.
  • Manage the team’s website and social media platforms, ensuring effective content creation and sponsorship fulfillment.
  • Coordinate media traffic and other deliverables in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Implement and manage email marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee the production and fulfillment of internal and external print materials.
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce compelling marketing collateral for ticketing and sponsorship.
  • Ensure consistent marketing communications across various media channels.
  • Assist in the execution of consumer promotions.
  • Manage the approval processes for the NBA G League and NBA 2K League.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual marketing and media plan along with the advertising budget.
  • Collaborate with the game experience and PR/CR teams to strategically plan and execute community outreach, themed game nights, and brand promotion initiatives.
  • Handle additional seasonal responsibilities related to the promotion and social media coverage of Jazz Gaming (NBA 2K League) and support the Salt Lake City Summer League.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (marketing preferred).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in marketing is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in popular social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with WordPress and video editing is a plus.
  • Creative thinker with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends.
  • Expected to attend all home games and cover select road games remotely.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Capable of observing, inspecting, and assessing various situations.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
