Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to oversee the accuracy and integrity of our internal and external financial reporting. This role demands a detail-oriented, research-driven individual with excellent communication skills to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Reporting Manager and must possess a solid understanding of regulatory and GAAP reporting practices.

Work Environment:

This position operates under a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with internal and external monthly reporting packages, regulatory submissions, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements, including drafting footnotes and disclosures.
  • Guide and mentor team members, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis and investigate variances against budgets and prior periods.
  • Develop offering memorandums and reports for regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Research accounting issues and assist in implementing new standards.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis requests.
  • Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates with electric utility experience.
  • Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information.
