Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly skilled Grants and Contracts Specialist III to perform pre- and post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts. This role requires strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, negotiate, and monitor grants, contracts, and budgets to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Maintain award-related schedules, prepare complex government applications and reports, and interpret policy and procedure.
  • Monitor account activity, perform internal audits, resolve complex issues, and review routine financial documents.
  • Develop and implement accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements and assist with managing special projects and preparing operating budgets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • At least 2 years of experience in grants and contracts administration, financial management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Working Conditions
