Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst who will play a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of both internal and external financial reporting. This position demands a detail-oriented, research-driven individual with exceptional communication skills to ensure adherence to evolving accounting standards, assess internal controls, and support various intricate reporting tasks. Reporting directly to the Reporting Manager, the ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in regulatory and GAAP reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external monthly reporting packages, regulatory submissions, employee benefit documentation, quarterly earnings materials, and GAAP financial statements, along with related audits.
  • Contribute to the annual financial statement preparation, including drafting financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Guide and mentor team members, reviewing their outputs to ensure adherence to established accounting standards.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis and investigate variances against budget, prior month, and previous year’s performance.
  • Draft offering memorandums and other necessary reports for regulatory and legal compliance, ensuring clarity and accuracy in presentation.
  • Research accounting matters and assist in the application of new accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Provide support for ad hoc financial inquiries and analyses.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and information sharing.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates with electric utility industry experience.
  • Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual, capable of inspiring others towards positive change.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
