Position Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst who will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of the Company's financial reporting, both internally and externally. This position demands a detail-oriented, research-driven professional with strong communication skills to ensure adherence to current and evolving accounting standards, assess internal controls, and assist with various complex reporting tasks. The analyst will report directly to the Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with internal and external monthly reporting packages, regulatory submissions, employee benefit plans, quarterly earnings release materials, and GAAP financial statements, including audits related to these reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements, including drafting financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Guide and mentor team members, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Conduct financial statement flux analysis and investigate deviations and trends against budget and prior periods.
  • Draft offering memorandums and other necessary reports for regulatory and legal compliance, ensuring accuracy and consistency in presentation.
  • Research accounting issues and assist in implementing new accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and recommend improvements.
  • Support ad hoc financial requests and analyses as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Assist with special projects, including governmental reporting and industry surveys.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates with electric utility experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to inspire others toward positive change.
  • Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment:

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with the remainder of the week working remotely. The specific reporting location and frequency may vary based on departmental needs.
