Position Overview:

This role involves overseeing activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, specifically within the Bureau of Long-Term Care Facilities. The incumbent will assist in the issuance of licenses to healthcare facilities and providers, ensuring that all licenses remain current through compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities include conducting initial and annual inspections to verify adherence to applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the licensing process for healthcare facilities and providers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing inspections of regulated healthcare institutions to assess compliance.
  • Perform advanced investigations into complaints regarding licensed or unlicensed facilities.
  • Review and analyze detailed inspection reports and correspondence related to licensing status changes.
  • Manage and supervise subordinate staff, including setting priorities, hiring, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Engage with the regulated community and regulatory bodies, addressing technical inquiries and developing standards.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with staff, advisory committees, and stakeholder organizations.
  • Provide technical assistance to both providers and consumers, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Oversee training programs for new employees, developing materials and delivering presentations as needed.
  • Monitor quality systems by tracking documentation and corrective actions, and generate performance-related reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that are relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree along with 3+ years of experience in surveyor or compliance roles, or in management/project management. Preference will be given to candidates with a professional license in the State of Arizona or proof of eligibility for reciprocity.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel statewide. A level one fingerprint clearance card is required, or candidates must apply for one within a specified timeframe after employment begins.
