Role Summary:

The Vice President, Resident and External Engagement is tasked with spearheading Atlanta Housing's interactions with stakeholders, focusing on resident engagement and response initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing the resident experience, fostering economic independence, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders dedicated to advancing Atlanta Housing's mission.

This leadership role encompasses strategic oversight and direct involvement in executing initiatives that ensure a positive resident experience and maintain essential relationships with participants, residents, governmental bodies, foundations, social service agencies, community partners, and other relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation

  • Identify, develop, and engage in initiatives that empower youth, adults, and seniors from resident families to attain skills and opportunities that promote economic and lifestyle independence, while also enhancing the wellbeing of senior residents.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive human development programs aimed at supporting resident youth, adults, and seniors.
  • Address and resolve resident concerns, including compliance issues related to housing programs, while fostering positive community relations.
  • Encourage community involvement by creating volunteer opportunities that connect staff with the diverse population served by Atlanta Housing.
  • Initiate programs aimed at providing youth with the necessary education, training, and support services for successful educational and career outcomes.
  • Promote healthy aging initiatives that enable residents to thrive within their communities.
  • Assist individuals transitioning from public assistance to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations to enhance program delivery and improve resident outcomes.
  • Support marketing and event coordination for Atlanta Housing-hosted events.

Professional Experience:

  • Over 10 years of relevant managerial or leadership experience in Human Development, Resident Services, or similar fields.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and assess a diverse and experienced team effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of strategies that promote economic and lifestyle independence for residents of all ages.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development affordable housing programs and regulations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Atlanta Housing.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with residents, employees, and business partners across sectors.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong judgment, diplomacy, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, complemented by strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to manage various projects and refine business processes.
  • Proficiency in current office technologies and software applications.

Education:

  • A Master's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Compensation:

  • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with an anticipated salary range of $133,100 - $169,100.
