High School Student Success Advocate

We are seeking a passionate and experienced High School Student Success Advocate to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding high school students towards academic success and personal growth within our holistic framework of strength-focused, family-supported practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive case management services to students identified as needing support to achieve academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with students to identify obstacles hindering their school attendance and connect them with appropriate resources. This includes conducting home visits, phone calls, and daily attendance monitoring.
  • Conduct assessments and provide individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs.
  • Develop and implement engaging workshops that address the diverse needs of our high school students.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Engage families in the educational journey by facilitating outreach activities and fostering their involvement in the school community.
  • Participate actively in school-wide events and agency initiatives to promote a supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to develop effective interventions for truant students, ensuring their successful reintegration into the academic setting.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive family engagement plans that provide multiple avenues for families to actively participate in the school community. This includes empowering parents and caregivers to take ownership of various aspects of the plan and fostering their leadership development through training opportunities.
  • Advise and recruit parents and caregivers to participate in ongoing workshops and development programs.
  • Collaborate with schools to structure events that encourage meaningful participation from students, families, and the broader community.
  • Build strong partnerships and work effectively within teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills to address challenges proactively.
  • Embrace a positive attitude towards creating and implementing innovative initiatives that enhance student success.
  • Maintain meticulous records, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and exhibit trustworthiness in handling sensitive information.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive applications, local area networks, and efficient internet navigation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or Social Work required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience working with youth within a youth development framework and providing services to at-risk populations.
  • Proven experience in group facilitation and individual success planning.
