Position Overview

Role Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the development and execution of various HR initiatives, with a strong focus on talent acquisition and onboarding processes. Your responsibilities will also encompass employee relations, compliance, performance management, workers' compensation, employee engagement, training, unemployment, and the administration of diverse compensation and benefits programs.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for designated positions from the initial job requisition through to the hiring stage, which includes updating job descriptions, sourcing strategies, screening, and coordinating interviews, as well as managing job offers, drug tests, background checks, and reference verifications.
  • Oversee the employee referral initiative.
  • Ensure that all new hires embody the highest caliber of talent and align with VBC's core values.
  • Collaborate with the Senior HR Business Partner to facilitate an effective onboarding experience.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Senior HR Business Partner on HR initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing business performance.
  • Provide daily guidance to employees on a range of HR topics and promote positive employee relations.
  • Implement and manage employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Work with HRIS (ADP) and Payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee payroll and data management.
  • Manage and process Workers' Compensation, Unemployment claims, and leaves of absence in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Assist with the local execution of various processes, including performance reviews and benefits enrollment.
  • Collaborate with managers to address performance management challenges, offering guidance, coaching, and tracking as necessary.
  • Support the Senior HR Business Partner with additional HR projects and events.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Generalist experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong background in talent acquisition with current knowledge of strategic and innovative sourcing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.
  • Ability to think creatively with robust problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong networking, social media, and internet research skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
  • Experience in building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
