POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist at Dietz & Watson plays a pivotal role in managing HR functions at a professional level. This position collaborates closely with management to engage in various HR activities, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training initiatives, record management, performance evaluation, policy enforcement, and compliance with employment regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitates the execution of personnel policies applicable to all staff members.
  • Oversees recruitment processes, which encompass conducting preliminary interviews, coordinating meetings with hiring managers, and extending job offers.
  • Manages post-offer pre-employment screenings, including physical examinations and drug tests, while also initiating background checks for new hires.
  • Conducts monthly orientations for new employees, covering essential topics such as onboarding paperwork, safety protocols, harassment prevention training, and benefits enrollment. Ensures timely submission of these documents to Payroll.
  • Validates I-9 documentation and employs E-verify for electronic data submission.
  • Participates in the performance appraisal process; collaborates with supervisors to review evaluations for their respective teams (30-day, 70-day, and annual assessments).
  • Communicates and clarifies company-sponsored benefits (healthcare, retirement plans, etc.) to both new and existing employees; ensures timely processing of enrollment forms.
  • Establishes and maintains comprehensive departmental records and reports; organizes and digitizes documents for employee files.
  • Maintains accurate personnel records within the HRIS system.
  • Addresses employee relations issues; conducts investigations as necessary.
  • Administers termination processes and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Handles unemployment claims and represents the company at unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Participates in weekly HR meetings to discuss ongoing initiatives and strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Experience in a dynamic work environment is highly preferred.
  • Background in the manufacturing sector is advantageous.
  • PHR/SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (experience with UKG Pro and Kronos is desirable).
