Job Overview

Position: Art Gallery - Retail Sales and Administrative Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-driven individual who thrives in a customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Sales: Engaging with customers to sell fine art and crafts, requiring the ability to learn and articulate details about artists and their creations.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Assisting with special marketing projects as they arise.
  • Administrative Support: Performing administrative tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Sales Processing: Preparing sales slips, necessitating strong mathematical skills, as we do not utilize a point of sale system.
  • Inventory Management: Receiving shipments and managing inventory levels.
  • Merchandising: Displaying products attractively and maintaining the gallery's aesthetic.
  • Gift Wrapping: Providing complimentary gift wrapping services.
  • Cleaning Duties: Ensuring the gallery is clean and presentable, including polishing furniture and maintaining glass displays.

This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, and while a background in art is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. Flexibility in scheduling is appreciated, as the position may be part-time or full-time. Our operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, with additional holiday hours.
