Job Description
The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This includes developing and implementing menus, programs, concepts, challenges, and tasks that meet the cultural and dietary needs of our clients' guests. The Sous Chef also oversees the kitchen's administrative, operational, and culinary tasks, including sanitation and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Develops and implements menus, programs, concepts, challenges, and tasks that meet the cultural and dietary needs of our clients' guests.
* Oversees the kitchen's daily administrative, operational, and culinary tasks, including sanitation and safety.
* Motivates, trains, develops, and directs the back of house employees to accomplish the objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers, clients, and Bon Appetit Management Company.
* Prepares a well-balanced menu that meets the cultural and dietary needs of our clients' guests.
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years kitchen supervisory experience or applicable culinary experience in a similar volume, quality food service establishment.
* Possesses general hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices.
* Ability to operate web-based ordering systems, process customer requests, changes to orders, menu updates, and client profiles.
* Proficient with word processing and compose basic email memos.
* Ability to meet Bon Appétit unit-specific uniform standards for this position.
* Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment per Bon Appétit guidelines.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000-$88,000 annually. This salary range is based on national averages for a Sous Chef position in the United States.
