Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated On Call Supportive Housing Associate to join our Supportive Housing initiatives in the Southern Oregon region. This role involves motivating individuals with serious mental health challenges to engage in various skill-building and treatment activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating access to community resources
  • Assisting tenants with healthcare coordination, housing applications, and move-in logistics
  • Administering medications and managing finances
  • Monitoring symptoms and providing housekeeping support
  • Encouraging social interaction, self-help, and effective communication
  • Offering daily assistance for problem-solving

This position necessitates a compassionate approach and active listening skills. Additionally, you will receive training in crisis de-escalation, which includes performing various physical techniques.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to collaborate within a direct care team, support life skills development, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. The following points are essential:

  • On Call staff are required to work a minimum of 32 hours monthly to remain active
  • Attendance at one staff meeting per month is mandatory (and clinical supervision if a QMHA)
  • Ongoing training compliance is required
  • Responding to coverage requests within 4 hours of notification is expected

Vocational Training Program

For those starting as a QMHA-R, we offer a Vocational Training Program designed to expedite training and experiential learning, allowing qualified employees to complete the necessary 1000 supervised hours for QMHA-I certification in as little as 6 months. Participation in this program is optional.

Work Schedule

Shifts will vary based on program needs and may include weekends, holidays, and overnight hours. Overnight shifts involve a 16-hour commitment with sleep accommodations provided. An additional $75 bonus is available for overnight shifts.

Compensation

The hourly wage is $23.75 based on experience and credentials, with an additional $2.50 per hour night shift differential applicable from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Bilingual or multilingual candidates (especially Spanish/English) may receive an additional 5% Language Differential.

Program Overview

Swing Lane is a 7-unit Supportive Housing Program that provides affordable housing to individuals with disabilities, aiming to reintegrate them into the community as they progress in their recovery. Rogue Ridge Apartments is a new 28-unit permanent Supportive Housing program serving adults experiencing homelessness and mental illness, offering various supportive services.

Qualifications

Applicants must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration, meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, etc.)
  • OR three years of verifiable behavioral health experience in a supervised setting
  • OR a combination of relevant education and experience

If not already registered as a QMHA, assistance will be provided within 30 days of hire.

Driving Requirement

A valid Oregon driver's license and a safe driving record are essential, along with the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Physical Demands

This role requires frequent communication, mobility, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Successful candidates must complete crisis de-escalation and CPR training, which involves physical maneuvers. Reasonable accommodations can be arranged.
