Position Overview

Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with the option for remote work two days a week and occasional on-call responsibilities.

Compensation: $43.27 per hour, dependent on experience.

Location: Jamaica Plain.

Role Summary:

The Housing Clinical Services Department is dedicated to assisting residents across various housing programs by delivering essential clinical support, consultation, and direct interventions aimed at fostering housing stability. The department encompasses a range of clinical services, including housing clinicians, crisis intervention, recovery coaching, and case management focused on recovery.

The Director of Housing Clinical Services will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, clinical oversight, and comprehensive management of the Housing Clinical Services at Pine Street Inn. This individual will collaborate closely with peer directors in Housing Support Services and Specialized Housing to ensure cohesive clinical interventions and guidance for staff across all programs.

The Director will cultivate an in-depth understanding of Permanent Supportive Housing, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to residents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all clinical, operational, and budgetary aspects of the department.
  • Supervising staff and implementing best practices.
  • Meeting all regulatory, funding, and contractual obligations.
  • Developing expectations, procedures, and training programs for clinical services.
  • Supporting the agency's mission and strategic objectives in collaboration with other departments.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, possess outstanding communication skills, and be adept at coordinating service delivery and program procedures. This role demands a high level of tact, diplomacy, and innovative problem-solving abilities to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

Required:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Independently licensed as LICSW or LMHC.

Knowledge/Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in homeless services or behavioral health, including progressive supervisory and management roles.
  • Expertise in housing-first approaches, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction strategies.
  • Proven experience in integrating best practices into daily operations, staff training, and supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage supportive services for vulnerable populations, preferably in the fields of homeless services or behavioral health.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and program managers.
  • A successful track record in facilitating change management initiatives that enhance services and programs for participants and staff.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • A positive attitude towards change and adaptability.
  • Experience in maintaining confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented team environment.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the mission of the organization and a positive sense of humor.

Preferred:

  • Experience in developing program policies and practices, along with establishing strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Training in clinical supervision.
  • A strong commitment to affordable housing, Housing First, and harm reduction principles.
  • Knowledge of housing management practices.
  • Experience working with chronically homeless individuals in housing-first programs.
  • Experience in providing supportive housing services.
