Position Overview

We are seeking a Supportive Housing Associate to join our Supportive Housing initiatives in the Southern Oregon area. This role involves empowering adults with serious mental health challenges to engage in various skills training and therapeutic activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating access to community resources
  • Assisting tenants with healthcare arrangements and housing applications
  • Supporting medication management and financial planning
  • Monitoring symptoms and maintaining a clean living environment
  • Encouraging social interaction and self-help strategies
  • Providing daily support for problem-solving

This position requires a compassionate approach and active listening skills. Additionally, you will receive training in crisis de-escalation, which involves physical techniques and maneuvers.

Key Responsibilities

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental health issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions
  • Performing housekeeping and meal preparation tasks
  • Administering medications and maintaining accurate clinical records

Important Considerations

  • On-call staff must work a minimum of 32 hours per month to remain active
  • Attendance at one staff meeting per month is required
  • Staying current with company training is essential
  • Responding to coverage requests within 4 hours is expected

Vocational Training Program

For those starting as a QMHA-R, we offer a Vocational Training Program to expedite training and experiential learning, enabling qualified employees to achieve the necessary supervised hours for QMHA-I certification within approximately 6 months.

Work Schedule

Shifts will vary based on program needs and may include holidays, weekends, and overnight shifts. An additional $75 bonus is provided for overnight shifts where you sleep on-site.

Compensation

The hourly wage is $23.75 based on experience and credentials, with an additional $2.50 per hour night shift differential applicable during specific hours. A 5% Language Differential is available for bilingual or multilingual candidates.

Our Supportive Housing Program aims to provide affordable housing for individuals living with disabilities, facilitating their reintegration into the community. We are committed to offering comprehensive support services, including peer support, skills training, and community navigation.

Qualifications

Applicants must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration, meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or related field
  • Three years of verifiable behavioral health experience in a supervised setting
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Driving is a key function of this role; therefore, a valid Oregon driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Successful candidates must also pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

This position necessitates the ability to communicate effectively, perform physical tasks, and complete crisis de-escalation and CPR training.
