About the Role

The State of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled Grants Manager to join our team. As a Grants Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing external funding opportunities to support the agency's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify federal, state, and private grant programs that align with the agency's objectives
  • Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Manage the administration of grants, including tracking expenditures, reporting, and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
  • Collaborate with project coordinators, accounting staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless grant administration
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funding agencies and other stakeholders to identify new funding opportunities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in grant administration, program management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and private grant programs, including regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise grant applications and reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills
Working Conditions

The work is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and personal computer and phone usage. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. May be required to attend meetings offsite. This work will include driving a state vehicle. Overnight travel is possible, but very infrequent.
