Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the State of New Mexico as a Staff Manager/Senior Policy Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading legislative activities, policy-related tasks, and grant writing and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead legislative bill tracking and analysis during New Mexico Legislative Sessions
  • Post-session implementation of new legislation
  • Lead assigned special projects, including research, analysis, and reporting, grant writing, implementation, and oversight
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of professional-level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Experience with the New Mexico Behavioral Health system
  • Experience with the legislative process
  • Experience with grant writing and management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
